July 3rd

The summer heat has arrived, and every day the temperatures rise higher and higher. thank goodness for central air conditioning! Last weekend, we visited our friend Debbie in Columbus, Ohio for the annual Comfest; a celebration of the local community. I added some pictures from the event to the album. Hopefully after tomorrow I will be able to add some photos of fireworks from Newport on the Levee.

In general we have seen the light at the end of the tunnel, and we are looking forward to the end of Meghan's internship and the changes that will bring.

July 10th

I put up some new photos and rearranged the photo album a bit, so check it out to see some great shots of the Newport Aquarium and our 4th of July fireworks. The aquarium here is pretty fun, but I have to be true to my roots and point out that it's not as nice as the New England Aquarium. I did enjoy the long acrylic tubes that they have set up for people to walk through, allowing views of the fish from the sides and from below. I was a little disappointed by the way they kept their penguins though, and there wasn't anything like a dolphin show or any of that. Of course, I suppose that's to be expected being that we are so much farther from the sea.
